Requiting Favors.

As for the genuine writing, fragmentary documents are possessed in five places including Ikegami Honmonji Temple.

Question: Is there a correct Law that was not propagated even by Tientai and Dengyou?

Answer: Yes, there is.

Question: What is that?

Answer: There are three.

It was left behind by the Buddha for the sake of those who live in the latter day of the law. This is the correct Law which Mahakashyapa, Ananda,Ashvaghosha, Nagarjuna, Tientai and Dengyou once have not propagated.

Further question: What form is it?

Answer: First, people of Japan and whole world should assume the master Shakyamuni Buddha of the radical teachings their Gohonzon. So to speak, Shakyamuni, Taho, the other various Buddha, and the bodhisattvas of four people including Jogyo who appear to the treasure tower will act as very attenders.

Second, is the sanctuary of the radical teachings.

Third. The people of Japan and China and India and the whole world abandon other matters each other without disliking the wise or the ignorant and must chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

These teachings are not still spreading. In this whole world, during the 2225 years since Buddha had passed away, not a single person chanted it. Only Nichiren is lavish of his voice and now am chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

For instance, the size of the waves depends upon the wind that raises them, the size of flame depends on the firewood, the size of the lotuses depends upon the pond in which they grow, and the volume of rain depends upon the dragons that bring rain. The deeper the roots, the more far wider the branches. The farther the source, the longer the stream.

The Chou dynasty lasted for seven hundred years because its founder, King Wen, observed the courtesy and obeyed dutifully his parents. The Ch'in dynasty (B.C. 221–206), to the contrary, lasted hardly, because of the devious politics of its founder, the first emperor of the Ch'in. If Nichiren's benevolence is vast, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo will flow for ten thousand years and until the eternity either. There is the beneficial power to open the blind eyes of all the people of the country in Japan, and it blocks the path to the hell of incessant suffering. Its benefits surpass that of Dengho and Tientai, and are superior to that of Nagarjuna and Mahakashyapa.

An ascetic practice for hundred years in the paradise do not surpass one day benefit of the foul world. The propagation of two thousand years during the proper and image times of the Law is inferior to a second of propagation of the latter day of the Law.

This is not a thing by the wisdom of Nichiren totally, the time only makes so. In spring, the blossoms open, in autumn, the fruit ripens. Summer is warm, and winter is cold. Does not the time make so?
