末法の本仏の立場で法華経二十八品を後継者、日興上人に口伝した書【御義口伝 下】要点解説(102)


第一 普賢菩薩の事 (注)

文句の十に云く、勧発とは恋法(注)の辞なりと。

御義口伝に云く、勧発とは、勧は化他、発は自行(注)なり、普とは諸法実相・迹門の不変真如の理なり。

賢とは智慧の義なり本門の随縁真如の智なり、然る間、経末に来つて本迹二門を恋法し給えり。

所詮今、日蓮等の類い南無妙法蓮華経と唱え奉る者は普賢菩薩の守護なり云云。




普賢菩薩
本抄で日蓮大聖人は妙法蓮華経の最後の品である【普賢菩薩勘発品第二十八】の『勘発について解き明かされておられます。

恋法
正法を恋慕するという意味
天台は文句の十で勘発とは正法を恋慕する事であると説いている。

それに対し日蓮大聖人は本抄で勧は化他、発は自行を意味していると解き明かされておられます。
化他とは他者を化すことで折伏を意味し、自行とは自ら仏と為る修行を行ずる事で南無妙法蓮華と唱える唱題を意味します。

Gosho 兵衛志殿御返事 五 The Three Obstacles and Four Devils

せん()するところひと()すぢ()にをもひ切つて兄と同じく仏道を()り給へ。

In the final analysis, what you should do is resolve to pursue the Buddha way single-mindedly just as your brother is doing.

In any case, finally, you should resolve to pursue the Buddhahood single-mindedly same as your elder brother.

親父は(みょう)(しょう)(ごん)(のう)のごとし兄弟は浄蔵(じょうぞう)(じょう)(げん)なるべし、

Your father is like King Wonderful Adornment, and you brothers are like the princes Pure Storehouse and Pure Eye.

Your father is like King Majestic, and you brothers are the princes Jozo and Jogen who had led their father.

昔と今はかわるとも法華経のことわりは・たがうべからず、

The age is different, but the principle of the Lotus Sutra remains the same.

当時も武蔵(むさし)の入道そこばくの所領所従等をすてて遁世(とんせ)あり。
