十法界事（じゅっぽうかいじ）

　　 正元元年　三十八歳御作

迹門(しゃくもん)の大教起れば爾(に)前(ぜん)の大教亡(ぼう)じ・

When the great doctrines of the theoretical teaching of the Lotus Sutra are expounded, then the great doctrines set forth in the sutras preached prior to the Lotus are cancelled out.

When the theoretical teaching had its rise, the pre-Lotus Sutra teachings died out.

本門の大教起れば迹門爾前亡じ・

When the great doctrines of the essential teaching of the Lotus Sutra are expounded, then both the theoretical teaching and the teachings of the sutras that precede the Lotus are cancelled out.

When the essential teaching was preached, both the theoretical teaching and the pre-Lotus Sutra teachings fell.

観(かん)心(じん)の大教起れば本迹(ほんじゃく)爾前共に亡ず

And when the great doctrine of the observation of the mind is expounded, then the essential teaching, the theoretical teaching, and the teachings of the earlier sutras are all cancelled out.

When the teaching of observation of the mind came into existence, all the previous teachings: the essential teaching, the theoretical teaching, and the pre-Lotus Sutra teachings were all extinguished.
