仏法やうやく顛倒(てんどう)しければ世間も又濁(じょく)乱(らん)せり。

Because Buddhism has gradually been turned upside down, the secular world also has been plunged into corruption and chaos.

When Buddhism becomes corrupted, society becomes defiled and chaotic.

仏法は体(たい)のごとし、世間はかげのごとし。

Buddhism is like the body, and society like the shadow.

Buddhism is like the body and society like the shadow.

体曲(まが)れば影ななめなり。

When the body bends, so does the shadow.

When the body is twisted, so is the shadow.
