GOSHO 上野尼御前御返事 Wu-lung and I-lung 13

此の事を大王に申す。大王の言(いわ)く、我が願(ねがい)既(すで)にしるし有りとて遺竜弥(いよいよ)朝恩を蒙(こうむ)り、国又こぞつて此の御経を仰ぎ奉る。

I-lung reported all this to the ruler. The ruler said, “My wish has been answered with splendid results.” From then on, I-lung basked increasingly in the royal favor, and the entire populace of the country came to revere the Lotus Sutra.

Later, Yi-long related his experience to the king, who replied,“This happened as a result of my request for you to transcribe the Lotus Sutra.” From this time forward, Yi-long was shown ever-increasing favor by the king, and all of the king’s subjects came to take faith in the Lotus Sutra.

然(しか)るに故(こ)五郎殿と入道殿とは尼御前の父なり子なり。尼御前は彼(か)の入道殿のむすめなり。

The late Gorō and the late lay priest Matsuno were, respectively, your son and father. You are the lay priest’s daughter.

Now the late Goro was your son, and the dearly departed Lord Matsuno was your father. You are the late lord’s daughter.

今こそ入道殿は都率(とそつ)の内院へ参り給うらめ。

I believe, therefore, that he must at this very moment be in the inner court of theTushita heaven.

He is certain to have ascended to the inner sanctum of the Tushita Heaven.

此の由(よし)をは(伯)わ(耆)きど(殿)のよみきかせまいらせ給うべし。
