Orally Transmitted teachings on the Lotus Sutra

“From the Buddha” indicates those followers who receive the teachings from Nichiren, and the joy of the mouth indicates Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

The joy of the mind comes about through there alization that one is no longer confused or hampered by darkness, or ignorance.

Without labor or trouble, without religious practices or good deeds, this cluster of unsurpassed jewels can come into our possession through the single word “faith.”

That is why the passage says that it has “come to us unsought.”

The provisional teachings declare that these two elements of body and mind are characterized by impermanence.

But the message of the Lotus Sutra is the assertion that this impermanence is in fact a state of permanent abiding.
