Gosho 百六箇抄 One Hundred and Six Articles


 下種の法華経教主の本迹

The true or provisional teacher of the Lotus Sutra from the standpoint of the Buddhism of the sowing.

自受用(じじゅゆう)(しん)(ほん)・上行日蓮は(しゃく)なり、

The Buddha of the property of perfect wisdom is the true identity, while Nichiren as Bodisattva Jōgyō is the provisional identity.

我等が内証の寿量品とは(だっ)(ちゃく)寿量の文底の本因(ほんにん)(みょう)の事なり、

The Life Span chapter of the Lotus Sutra of my inner realization is the true cause hidden in the depths of the Life Span chapterof the Buddhism of the harvest.

()の教主は(それがし)なり。【本文

 I, Nichiren, am the teacher [of the Lotus Sutra of the sowing].

 下種(しょう)(しゃく)二門の本迹

The Judging the true or provisional between the two ways of syōju and shakubuku from the standpoint of the Buddhism of the sowing .


 日蓮は折伏を本とし摂受(しょうじゅ)を迹と定む、


 Nichiren determines that shakubuku is the essential practice, while syōju is the theoretical practice.

法華折伏・()権門(ごんもん)()とは是なり。


This is the meaning of the passage, “The Lotus Sutra is the teaching of shakubuku, the refutation of the provisional doctrines.”
