On securing the Peace of the Land through the Propagation of True Buddhism 8

 I certainly have no intention of censuring the sons of the Buddha.
 The purpose of the sutras is not to punish the Buddha's children,

 My only hatred is for the act of slandering the Law.
 but to eliminate slander.

 Accordingto the Buddhist teachings, prior to Shakyamuni slanderous monks would have incurred the death penalty. But since the time of Shakyamuni, the One Who Can Endure, the giving of alms to slanderous monks is forbidden in the sutra teachings.
 According to the teachings describing Shakyamuni Buddha’s previous lives before his advent in India, slanderers had to be killed. The teachings elucidated by Shakyamuni when he appeared in India as the Buddha of perseverance only prohibit making offerings to slanderers.

 Now if all the four kinds of Buddhists within the four seas and the ten thousand lands would only cease giving alms to wicked priests and instead all come over to the side of the good, then how could any more troubles rise to plague us, or disasters come to confront us?
 Thus if all of the four kinds of believers throughout the land refuse to make offerings to the evil and instead devote themselves to the good, then what catastrophes could occur, and what disasters could vie with one another to arise?
